Amazon Phone Scam
Just had an automated phone call, allegedly from Amazon this morning. Apparently, I have been charged for Amazon Prime Membership at £79.99.
If I wish to cancel this, press 1.
At this point, I hung up as I did not order Amazon Prime and I am assuming that pressing "1" would result in my Bank/Credit Card details being taken to "refund" the charge, more likely to take money out of my account! Checking my Amazon account online, clearly showed that I do not have Amazon Prime active or being charged.
The number used was 0013124386849 so not even a UK number from Amazon UK!
