A couple of Strange eMails recently! Warning!

danger iconI've had a couple of quite strange emails recently.

There's been a number from someone at webwindows.co.uk offering me banner space on a daily national newspaper. Can only assume these are from someone who has added me without permission to their business spam mailing list.

Then an attempt to con me into opening an infected file in Dropbox. I did not recognise the sender nor was there any reason for me to expect to recieve UPDATE_VACATIONS_SCHEDULE_09_2015.pdf. I also (eventually) noticed it did not come in on my dropbox single use email account, so probably infected file. Looking on Google just now, shows this is indeed an infected malware file.

The latest is from Owler, a firm I've never heard of nor have I ever given then my email address, sending me 40K+ size files about "Your new competitive report is now available", no text content, only traceable images, something I would never accept from an unknown source. If this is a genuine eMail and not another infected spam attack, it's probably someone who has again added my personal email address to their unwanted, unsolicited business spam mailing list.

Another dubious and totally unwanted/unrequested junk eMail just arrived with hookup.info as the sender which looks like it's another spamming firm that has added my personal email address, illegally, to their business spam mailing list. Oh course there is no viewable content, only images that will be traceable and possibly infected and that I have to authorise to see. NOT going to happen.
